Yearprint Back to Yearprint

Privacy policy

Your year stays yours.

Yearprint turns records you choose on your iPhone into personal visualizations. Calendar, Health and Photos records are processed on your device and are not uploaded to a Yearprint server. The app has no account system, advertising, analytics SDK or online AI service.

What this policy covers

This policy describes Yearprint version 0.8 for iPhone and the informational website at yearprint.app. “Yearprint,” “we,” and “our” refer to the developer of the Yearprint app.

01

Calendar data

If you choose Calendar, Yearprint reads only the calendars you select and the details needed to draw the wheel, calculate summaries, and create exports. iOS calls this permission “Full Access,” but Yearprint only reads; it never creates, edits, or deletes events. Processing stays on your device.

02

Apple Health data

For a Health category, Yearprint may read step count, walking and running distance, active energy, body mass, or existing workouts. It uses these records only for on-device summaries, visualizations, insights, and exports. It never writes to Health, uploads Health records, or uses them for advertising.

03

Photos and “Beyond your city”

Photos are grouped on-device by creation date; Live Photos count once, videos are excluded, and faces are not analyzed. “Beyond your city” compares location metadata from permitted still photos with the center of a city you choose. Coordinates are not uploaded, and the approximate straight-line result is not proof of travel. Limited Photos access may produce incomplete summaries.

04

Daylight and optional location

Yearprint can estimate sunrise and sunset from your time zone. Optional When In Use location can improve that estimate or suggest a reference city. There is no background tracking, and current coordinates or a home address are not saved. Apple’s geocoder may receive an approximate area or city search only when you request a suggestion.

05

Preferences and exports

Selected sources, calendar identifiers, colors, appearance, language, units, city, print style, periods, and onboarding status are stored locally. Previews and exports are generated on-device. Copies you save or share through iOS are controlled by you and their destination; source names and event titles remain hidden in exports.

06

Network use, tracking, and sharing

Yearprint has no account or personal-record server. It does not use advertising or analytics SDKs, track you across apps, sell personal information, or send your Calendar, Health, or Photos records to AI. Nothing is published automatically; sharing starts only when you open the iOS share sheet. This website sets no analytics or advertising cookies, though its host may process basic request data to deliver and protect it.

07

Your choices and control

Turning a source off clears its loaded data and stops further reads. Revoked permissions are reflected when Yearprint refreshes or returns to the foreground.

  • Choose sources before granting permission.
  • Use fictional examples without personal records.
  • Select calendars and full or limited Photos access.
  • Change permissions in iPhone Settings or Health.
  • Use a time-zone estimate instead of location.
  • Choose or remove the reference city.
  • Preview every export before saving or sharing.
  • Delete the app to remove local preferences.

08

Children, security, and changes

Yearprint is a general-audience visualization tool and is not directed to children. On-device records benefit from iOS protections, but no storage method is perfectly secure. We may update this policy when features or legal obligations change and will show a new update date for the revised version.
